*The number of guests suitable for the nine rooms/suites is subject to the comfort of those wishing to share some accommodations as adults or with children. Here are some examples of what we arrange on the occasion of Palazzo’s buyouts:
- A day in a Masseria – Just 30 minutes from Palazzo Margherita, a 19th-century Masseria sits among ancient olive trees and rolling hills. Here, rural traditions still thrive. Guests are welcomed by the scent of wood burning in the old “forni a campana”, and can watch a local shepherd prepare fresh ricotta before tasting it warm with regional delicacies. Dinner is served at a long family-style table, either in the grain barn or on the panoramic terrace overlooking the hills, featuring authentic Lucanian dishes and ingredients from nearby farms, and traditional recipes passed down through generations. On request, the evening may be accompanied by the vibrant rhythms of the Tarantella, performed by a local folk band.
- Excursion through a private area of theMurgia Regional Park right outside Matera, including an aperitivo on a scenic viewpoint onto the ravine, the deep natural canyon carved into the plateau over millions of years. The experience is completed with a visit to a private cave church and a candlelit dinner in a cave of the Park. This is a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
- Guided visit of Matera, followed by private dinner in a noble palace in the heart of the Sassi District. It will be open exclusively for our guests.
- Truffle Hunting in the Pollino National Park, followed by a light lunch with wine tasting in a medieval wine cellar, located in a characteristic village of the Park.
