Introduction

Turtle Inn

Turtle Inn - Belize

Francis and Eleanor Coppola found this stretch of beach in 2001. The 28 dwellings sit right on the sand, thatched and open to the air, furnished in hand-carved Balinese wood, with the sea breeze moving through them all day. Step off your private deck, and the white sand is underfoot, running down to the warm, clear Caribbean.

A short walk or bicycle ride along the shore brings you into Placencia, a fishing village at the end of the peninsula, where the shops are small and locally made, and the seafood is whatever came off the boat that morning.
