The lodge sits about an hour from the Belize border and a 45-minute drive from the Maya ruins of Tikal and the Maya Biosphere Reserve.
Across the lake, Tayasal, the ancient island capital of the Itzá, now lies beneath the cobbled streets and colonial buildings of modern-day Flores. From La Lancha, much of the ancient Maya world is within a day’s reach: Tikal, Uaxactún, Yaxhá, Topoxté, Nakum, Dos Pilas, Aguateca, and Seibal can all be visited by day tour, and in the summer months helicopter access opens more remote sites such as El Mirador, El Perú, and Cancuén.
The surrounding forest offers a range of activities and adventures, from an aerial walkway, zip line, and horseback riding to jungle trails, while Lake Petén Itzá can be explored by canoe, kayak, or boat.

How to get here
Guests arrive at Mundo Maya International Airport (FRS) in Flores, Guatemala.
By road: La Lancha is about a 45-minute drive from the airport along Lake Petén Itzá, and the lodge can arrange a private transfer.
By boat: La Lancha can arrange a private launch across Lake Petén Itzá to the lodge’s own dock, approximately 25 – 30 minutes.
Via Guatemala City: Avianca and TAG Airlines fly from La Aurora International Airport (GUA) to Flores, approximately one hour.
Via Belize: The lodge can also arrange an overland transfer from Blancaneaux Lodge, approximately 2 hours.
