Organic Garden Tea House
In the organic garden, an open-air pavilion where the tea is grown a few steps from where it’s poured. The Organic Garden Tea House began with Ian Flowers, Turtle Inn’s Herbalist, who learned medicinal herbs from his Belizean grandparents, which native plants ease digestion, calm inflammation, settle the mind. That knowledge is what fills the cup.
Allspice and lemongrass, ginger and soursop leaf, mint and turmeric, picked in the morning and steeped fresh. Walk the beds where they grow, learn what each one is for, and drink them in the shade of the pavilion. There are packaged blends to take home.
The concierge can arrange a guided tour of the garden with Ian and his team, an hour among the beds learning how the herbs are grown and used. It is a quiet ritual, and an old Belizean tradition kept alive, grown in the ground you are standing on.
