The day tends to organize itself around the water here. Blancaneaux runs off the grid, powered since the 1990s by a hydroelectric plant on Privassion Creek, the same creek that warms the spa’s hot pool and feeds the freshwater infinity pool and swimming holes among the granite boulders below.
Its services gather along the water: the Waterfall Spa on the banks; stables with twenty-one horses for riders of every level; a four-acre organic garden that supplies the kitchens and is open to wander; and a boutique of hand-woven Guatemalan textiles. Bikes and river tubes are there whenever you want them.
